Meet Michelle Hayes, a Personal Stylist who joined our bespoke 8-weeks Pattern Cutting course

Michelle’s goal was to design and cut a pattern for a client.

Here is Michelle Hayes testimony:

“I was new to Pattern Cutting and on my first day I was very nervous but we were really looked after, we were given comfy sleepers, tea and refreshments to keep us fuelled for the day, it was such a lovely and warm environment to learn.

I found my tutor to be very patient which was very comforting, knowing that I really needed the time to grasp how to cut a pattern.

I really did not realise the amount of maths involved in pattern cutting but my tutor was able to break it down for me, while giving me the space to make mistakes which was nice.

I think because my tutor never got frustrated with me, I did not feel pressured to keep up to a deadline or timetable, the whole process felt relaxed and the most important thing for me was that I could ask all the questions that I had.

Having a tutor who is calm, patient and attentive is what you need when learning such a complicated and technical subject like Pattern Cutting and so I am really thankful I choose StyleLinePatternCutting.

I am really looking forward to starting my 2nd level of the  pattern cutting  course in March 2018 I can’t wait to come back for a second year to continue my journey”

Michelle Hayes, Personal Stylist

Gaining confidence with Pattern Cutting and testimonial

Lisa

It’s great when our students start to become confident in their own ability, especially with Pattern Cutting a very technical and complicated subject.

They start of frightened wondering if they would ever grasp such a topic but then they leave us competent with their owl in hand and their black book of terminologies, they head off into the industry, and so we were extremely happy to see Lisa finish not only one but two of our beginner courses. Our 8-weeks Pattern Cutting course and our  5-weeks Introductory course to Grading

Well done Lisa – we are so proud of you!!!

For us we love teaching driven and passionate designers how to cut a pattern for the first time and it gives us great pleasure when they graduate. We are striving to develop the next generation of industry’s leading pattern cutting technicians and garment technologists and so with our September courses all wrapped up for this year, we start planning for 2018.

Here is Lisa Allander testimony :

Lisa joined our 8-week Pattern Cutting course for beginners and this is what she had to say about us.

“Being a practical hands on person the course made things really easy for me to understand, which I preferred rather than lots of reading and writing.

Our tutor had such an enthusiastic personality and her experience in her field is exceptional, and so I felt at home straight away and both of her qualities reflected in my learning journey.

Although I have been sewing for several years, my knowledge of pattern cutting was very limited and my knowledge of grading was non-existent but with our tutors help combined with such a nice small class, I feel I have learnt a huge amount over the last 8 weeks.

Not only has our tutor been great throughout, but the lessons have been excellent, she was more than happy to be contacted between sessions to answer any questions or queries that I had which showed her commitment to our success, and I could really feel that warmth and passion that she had for us as students.

I would certainly recommend StylelinePatternCutting courses. I completed both the Pattern Cutting for beginners course and the Introductory Grading course, something I certainly would not have done if I didn’t think it was worth it..
